Sunday, August 29, 2021 will take place the 5th Coronation of Our Lady of Oropa, an event that takes place every 100 years and that has very ancient origins: the first solemn coronation took place on August 30, 1620 as a gesture of gratitude of the people of Biella who escaped the plague.

The gesture of the coronation has been renewed every century: in 1720, in 1820, just out of the hard Napoleonic age, until 1920, when, after the Great War, in one of the most difficult moments in Italian history, over 150 thousand people took part to the event.
