Description
Also known as the "Baraggione", the Biellese Baraggia extends between the municipalities of Benna, Candelo, Cossato, Massazza, Mottalciata, Salussola, Verrone, Villanova Biellese, which are part of the Baraggia di Candelo, while Brusnengo, Castelletto Cervo, Masserano are part of the Baraggia di Rovasenda.
The Baraggia orogeny was caused by the action of erosion and dismantling, carried out by torrents, on ancient plains, with a phenomenon that recalls that of the formation of the US Grand Canyon. A landscape was thus generated that is immediately striking for its simplicity and its extension; a set of spaces and colors that have also made it famous as "the last Savannah of Europe".
A wonderful place, where you can explore on foot or by mountain bike, where it is also possible to appreciate fine products such as wines or the characteristic rice.
