Castello di Montecavallo is located in Vigliano Biellese, 10 minutes from the center of Biella. In addition to being a residence whose history is strongly integrated with the history of Italy and the Biella area, we are a recently reorganized winery with a centenary history and which aims to position itself as a reference for the wines of Northern Piedmont.
The Castle of Montecavallo offers guided tours and wine tastings every day of the week at 10.30am and 2.00pm with at least 48 hours' booking notice, booking can be done directly from our website www.castellodimontecavallo.it or by writing an email to info@castellodimontecavallo.it or contacting us by telephone +393899326879.
The experience lasts approximately two hours divided as follows:
- one hour guided tour: visit to the vineyard (optional), visit to the historic cellar (dated 1830), visit to the historic bottle storage (with collection of bottles dating from the early 19th century to today), visit to the modern cellar (with explanation of the techniques of winemaking)
-one hour wine tasting: 4 glasses of our Nebbiolo wines: rosé wine, Nebbiolo/Vespolina blend, pure Nebbiolo, Erbaluce passito, paired with gourmet finger tastings.
The quality of the experience is high, and unique in the Biella context, also considering the proximity to the city centre: history (historic house, history of Biella wine, etc.), nature (vineyards, early 19th century garden, forest private), high-level wines (several awards received in the last two years), high-standard food.
The cost of the visit + tasting is 35 Euros per person.
