Description
The Castle Montecavallo was born with wine. Its hill was home to vineyards and a military fortification since at least the 13th century. In the 1830s, on the ancient ruins, the castle and the old cellar were built, while the entire hill was replanted with new vineyards and embellished with a garden full of exotic plants. Since then the estate it belongs to the same family that has taken care of this place and its vineyards over the centuries, making the Castle of Montecavallo winery a point of reference for the excellent viticulture in the Biella area. In 2021 the company passed into the hands of the new generation, Tomaso and Martina Incisa of Rocchetta.
